Re Stupid "exit ushers" @ Angel Stadium saying "Drive Safely" & "Thanks 4 coming"....
this kind of insincere rhetoric at public events always bothers me,including Angel stadium. You get some dumb Joe who is employed to monitor the exit as fans leave the game & he takes on the persona & attitude of team owner,as if he owns the team & stadium & we were his personal guests for the day,rather than avid fans who have dropped lots of money on games,merchandise,concessions,etc,enough to pay his wages for the day. And on top of this,dumb Joe doesn't even watch the game,maybe doesn't even know who just won,and probably knows next-to-nothing about baseball,but yet he thinks that be being employed to monitor the gate this somehow makes him superior than the fans& makes him feel empowered to say,without true affection,"drive safely."
Truly,id rather a person NOT say "have a nice day" or anything else if they don't really care about me,let alone know me.
